Once a week on Mashable, Tech Crunch or Huffington Post I read about someone’s creative promotional approach to marketing themselves as a job seeker.

Whether it’s a funky infographic resume, a physical promotional package, or an innovative digital portfolio, many of them are legitimately cool and sometimes successful (like this one).

Other, however, more closely resemble reincarnations of someone else’s work. Which by default makes it not very creative…

Infographic Resumes are Hot… But Do They Tell Your Story?

Infographic resumes are hot in the tech-heavy job search world right now.

A lot of people love infographic resumes because they are just plain bored of reading resumes, they’d rather look at a lovely, colorful picture book and decide to hire that person. And honestly, wouldn’t you rather work for a boss who was exciting and innovative and asked you to draw pictures about yourself instead of answering tedious questions about improbable work scenarios?
