Stop! First, you can do anything you want… there are no rules except “I must do what I have to do to get the job.” Second, can’t is a bad, bad word. Didn’t your mother ever tell you that? Third, do you really know this to be true? I mean, there is such a fine line between being pushy and persistent. Your definition is not the same as someone else. Push the line. Cross the line. If you screw up, learn… and adjust.

Your "cubi-cell". Many of us have found (or will soon find) ourselves a denizen of cubicle life; that quasi-private, yet well-trafficked home away from home. Ever find yourself frustrated by your life in a cubicle?

Check out this light-hearted graphic from EQA that will help you laugh off the idiosyncrasies of working in that little cube. This directive is, however, also a kick in the ass to some of you who have been in the work world for a while, and who still have a spark of independent life left inside.

For me, it’s been about 11 years since I left the cube farms of corporate America for the more friendly, if more unstable, confines of the start-up world. I had mostly forgotten the hyper-bureaucracy, “CYA” decision-averse mindsets and logistical hyperbole.

Forgotten, that is, until this past week when it found me again in the form of a phone conversation.
