The Value of an Employee Referral [Infographic]

Recruiters use a variety of sources to find appropriate candidates for open positions. Traditionally, companies drew from the pool of viable applicants on career sites and job boards.

Today, however, recruiters and employers are utilizing employee referrals to find the most qualified applicants. It’s still about who you know, and current employees may already hold the key to the perfect candidates.

Check out this interesting infographic from Jobvite, which shows how referred candidates offer many advantages to employers over those who apply through “outside” sources…

As a principal in a software solution provider, I strongly value referrals.

    - They are an implied testimony of your existing employee that they enjoy working at your company

    - Your employees only want to refer people who will reflect positively upon their judgment, so they are usually quite good technically and immediately fit with the team

    - The referred employee wants to do a good job because somebody had enough faith in them to recommend them for a job.
