Will YouTern sell or distribute my personal or company information?
Absolutely not. At YouTern, we take our customer’s trust, and their privacy, seriously. We will not knowingly sell, distribute, disseminate or otherwise provide access to your personal information to third parties. For more information, review our Privacy Policy.
I have an active subscription but can’t search the Resume Database. Why?
At YouTern we take the security of our users’ information seriously. As part of this emphasis, Resume Database access is only available to employers with at least one active posting.
Am I required by YouTern to offer a paid internship?
Please refer to our blog post on the issue of unpaid vs. paid internships. Bottom line: paid internships are the law; it is the right thing to do; and you have a greater chance to increase your candidate pool by offering either a paid internship or college credit.
How do I contact YouTern?

Can I post a position that is not for an internship?
YouTern's purpose is specifically to help candidates and employers connect through mutually-beneficial internships. Postings for non-internship positions will be removed from the site. For more information, please see YouTern's Terms & Conditions page.
How long are my internship postings available on YouTern?
Your posted internships remain visible on the site for 30 days, until you delete them, or your subscription expires.
YouTern offers flexible 3, 6 and 12-month subscription packages – whichever fits your needs. While your subscription is active, post, edit or delete as many internships as you’d like, as often as you want.
Is YouTern a staffing agency?
YouTern is not a staffing agency or placement firm. We're an online community that connects emerging talent with mentor-based internships at start-ups, SMEs and non-profits. By championing dynamic internships for future business leaders, YouTern bridges the chasm between the classroom and the real world.
Can I refer to multiple internships in a single posting?
Multiple internships in one listing greatly reduces the effectiveness of targeting specific types of candidates, directly impacting the quality of your results and our ability to serve our customers well. Each listing may contain just one internship opportunity. For more information, please see our Terms & Conditions.
How do candidates apply for my internships on YouTern?
Applications can be sent directly through a gateway on YouTern; your email address isn't shown to candidates (or anyone else). Applicants can also be linked to your URL. If you wish, your fax number address, and a street map may be displayed.
How do I view my applications?
View applications from your email inbox, or in detail from your YouTern account. After logging into your account, the applications will be shown in the ‘My Applications’ section of your ‘My Account’ page.
Can I keep my contact information and company name confidential?
Yes! If you choose, every element of your contact information can be hidden from view. Just click the ‘Post as Confidential’ button when posting your opportunity. Remember not to enter your company name or contact information in your posting text, as it will be revealed there.
I set my account to receive Resume Alerts. Why am I not receiving them?
Resumes alerts are auto-generated, so some servers may block them as spam. To avoid this problem, add support@youtern.com to your list of “safe” or “white listed” email addresses in your firewall or spam filter settings.
I registered. Why is there no place in my account to post an internship?
You may have inadvertently registered a Candidate account. To confirm that you have an Employer account look at the column headers on your Account Page; they should include employer-related activities like “Post Internships” and “Search Resumes”. A Candidate account will include a header for “Search Internships”.
At any time if you are unable to post internships, please contact our Support Team and we’ll be happy to assist you.
How do I change my login email and / or password?
Just log into your YouTern account using your current login email and password. On your My Account page, click the 'Edit' button in the My Profile section. Update your login email or password and click 'Save' at the bottom of the page.
The next time you log into YouTern, use your updated login email and password.

Why was my credit card rejected on YouTern’s payment page (the card should work)?
Credit card billing address errors are the most common reason for credit card rejections. When the site asks for billing address, make sure the billing address for the credit card bill is entered (you can find the billing address on your credit card statement).
