Job Description

We're seeking an independent, smart, self-motivated, efficient, and hard-working intern who genuinely enjoys helping others. As a part of the Support Team, you’ll take on the responsibility of serving our business community of over 1.7 million verified merchants and broader user community of over 50 million. You’ll be on the front lines with our customers and have the opportunity to represent Foursquare to folks who want more information, are having trouble, or are simply interested in our business. You’ll help set-up (free) business accounts; field, investigate and solve queries; help moderate community content; and field questions via email and Twitter. Day to day tasks will include responding to support requests within our support environment, escalating potential product issues within internal teams, assisting in improving the quality of venues and check-in specials in the Foursquare ecosystem, as well as assisting with new business onboarding. You'll also help our users navigate through the various apps and website, troubleshooting potential bugs that have been reported by users. You should be an avid user of Foursquare, an excellent written communicator, and a natural problem solver.

This is a paid, 4-month full-time internship offered in our SoHo, NYC office. While there are no full time opportunities available after this internship, interns from our Support team have gone on to full-time opportunities at dynamic companies including Etsy, Kickstarter, Buzzfeed, Bonobos, and more! Our next internship will begin Mid-July.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Balancing a high volume of support requests while prioritizing the most urgent requests.
    • Moderate the locations and specials database. Moderate community content, including photos, and location categories.
    • Helping businesses on best practices for using the business platform.
    • Working with the Support Team to identify and address common questions, feedback, bugs, and other concerns from the community.
    • Helping improve the support infrastructure by updating FAQ, collateral, and other resources.
    • Fulfilling ad hoc requests from the Sales team.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and  written)
  • A strong willingness to help users and businesses succeed with Foursquare!
  • Attention to detail and careful eye to help identify, troubleshoot, and report bugs
  • Ability to prioritize while completing varied tasks
  • Very analytical and proficient with productivity suites, most importantly MS Excel
  • Experience with the Mac OS and Google Apps a big plus
  • A passionate Foursquare user
  • Bonus: Prior experience with Zendesk, Sprout Social, and other support and community management tools
