The Marketing Intern position is a key role within the organization and supports the Marketing Director and CEO.

 

The Marketing Intern will spend approximately 10-20 hours per week of his/her time with the Marketing Department and will support online marketing initiatives, social media, event planning, client marketing initiatives and public relations. This is a 4-6 month unpaid internship that will include compensation for travel.

 

The successful candidate must effectively manage multiple projects at any given time and juggle frequently changing activities and priorities. This person must be able to operate effectively in a fast-moving, high-growth firm and will thrive in a dynamic and exciting work environment. As a key player in a firm that gets paid to counsel clients on strategy, leadership, execution, balance, and team dynamics, this person will be part of a team that holds itself to a higher standard and serves as a model to clients.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Marketing support for the Marketing Director and CEO on online marketing and communications initiatives, including newsletters, AdWords campaigns, email marketing, website maintenance, public relations, social media, etc.;
  • Coordinate the scheduling and logistics of completing video/phone client testimonials, marketing contractor projects, events, etc.;
  • Work with the Marketing Director to develop tools and improve systems, processes, policies and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient workflow and communications between prospective and current clients, external audiences and Olive Grove;
  • Perform market research on competitors and potential clients/collaborators and develop monthly reports on their movements, initiatives, key messaging, etc
  • Prepare marketing materials as requested;
  • Knowledge management and archiving using project management databases;

 

Experience Required:

  • A Bachelors degree (or on track to completing one) or equivalent experience;
  • One to two years of success in marketing for a nonprofit, service business or retail business;
  • Success in a fast-moving, high-growth office;
  • Experience supporting employees in virtual/remote offices;
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information in an appropriate manner;
  • Must be able to quickly assimilate information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, is required and experience with video editing software, Adobe Suite, and contact management/database software is an asset.

  • Internet savvy and the ability to learn online/software tools with ease.
  • Ability to conduct independent research with minimal oversight and synthesize large amounts of data into concise recommendations.
  • Ability to work remotely and with virtual supervision.
  • Advanced proficiency in common operating systems, software and online solutions.
  • Strong work ethic, well developed critical thinking and judgment skills.
  • Exceptional references, clean background check, and ability to work legally in the United States.

 

This is a part-time position that will require occasional presence in the firm’s headquarters in Belmont, CA. Driver’s license and independent transportation is required.
