Isa Adney International, LLC is currently looking for Spring 2012 Interns/College Success Advisory Board Members!

Description
Isa Adney International, LLC is currently looking for 3-5 Marketing Interns to help market her speaking business and be exclusive members of the Spring 2012 College Success Advisory Board. Interns/Board Members will gain real-world marketing experience, learn about owning your own business, and will serve as top advisors for what college students really need right now in order to succeed.

Interns/board members will also get exclusive mentorship from me – Isa Adney – and in return for your services in addition to getting paid 10% of any speech you book (average will be $150-300 per speech) you will receive exclusive one-on-one success coaching from me. I will help you find the best college opportunities, help you edit your scholarship essays, and give you guidance on how to find the career that best matches your strengths and interests. I will also serve as a reference and write recommendation letters for you when it comes to future job and scholarship applications.

You will also build and be part of a community with other interns and College Success Advisory Board members that will support you and help you in your goals.

Hours
Completely flexible. Minimum is 5 hours/week. Temporary/Part Time. Internship runs Jan 2012-May 2012 with possibility to re-apply for Summer Internship if interested.

Duties

  • Search higher education websites to find contact information for student activities professionals, career center professionals, college conference organizers, campus activity board leaders, and student government leaders.
  • Send personalized e-mails to contacts sharing free student engagement training video, free resources at communitycollegesuccess.com blog, sharing Isa’s speaking video, and asking them when they book speakers and what their goals are (emails will be pre-written; all you have to do is edit for personalization with each one you send and choose which one is appropriate for which audience member).
  • Meet with Isa via phone, Skype, or in person to discuss your college and career goals and how she can help.
  • Meet with Isa and College Success Advisory Board at least once/month via online conferencing to discuss greatest needs of college students and how Isa Adney International, LLC can develop programs to best solve those problems and share the solutions in ways that will capture students’ attention.
  • Brainstorm and share ideas to book more speaking engagements and creative ways to launch upcoming Community College Success book (e.g. locating media contacts).
  • Brainstorm and share ideas to increase visibility of Community College Success blog on Facebook and how to reach out to more community college students.
  • Possibly travel to speaking engagements with Isa if they are in your area and assist with activities and feedback.

Pay
10% of speaking fees from engagements booked by the e-mail you sent (average will be $150-$300/speech). Will be emploas an independent contractor and will be required to fill out a W9 and will receive a 1099-MISC to report income on taxes.

*All interns/Advisory Board Members will receive a free autographed copy of my book Community College Success: How to Finish with Friends, Scholarships, Internships, and the Career of Your Dreams when it is published in late Spring 2012.

  • Understanding of how to use social media strategically to reach students
  • Graphic design and video skills are a plus but not required
  • Desire and passion for helping at-risk and underprivileged students gain access to and success in higher education

  • Brief overview of your ideas/strategies for accomplishing the goals of the internship (i.e. getting speaking engagements booked, promoting Community College Success book, and providing ideas on how to improve college success for first generation, minority, community college, and other college students who might struggle to pay for and succeed in college do to socio-economic background).

Qualified applications will be asked to go through an interview process that consists of an e-mail task to complete and then a final phone or Skype interview.

Final intern/Advisory team will be chosen as soon as possible after all applications have been received.

Final team will have their pictures and bios posted on isaadney.com and will collaborate to develop Exclusive Intern/Advisory Board T-Shirts.
